Simon has just spilt beer on me as we are sitting in the port at Nevers. We arrived this afternoon and wandered into a buskers festival in the old square. It is warm and mild and we have come back to Lady Mary laden with provisions.We have had a couple of stays in rural villages and had some gentle walks and bike rides. A double lock and aqueduct this morning was somewhat unnerving, the lock was so deep our ropes weren’t long enough to run back to the boat and there were no floating bollards. Last night we ate locally grown guinea fowl roasted on the bbq stuffed with its own liver and kidney and home grown herbs from the butcher. There have been enough showers and plenty of ducks to feed with leftover bread.
