After a blissfully uneventful couple of cruisey days, with a pretty stop at Fleury, we are back at Nevers to leave Hugo and Paula to the train for Paris. The highlight was a magnificent rustic four course lunch including copious amounts of house wine and cafe noir which we attempted to walk off by trying to find the local chateau – the signposts led to an ancient wash house. Last night we were all kept awake by extreme thunder and lightening and torrential rain. Every little seam and crack and window is leaking and we are sitting inside with saucepans (fortunately in good supply) and towels everywhere. We did manage the half hour walk to the station in the rain with a suitcase on the back of a bike. It is Bastille Day so we are hoping the weather will clear and there will be fireworks to-night. Simon was a hero yesterday and cycled to the commercial centre to buy a new battery and then returned to stock up on wine and cheese.

Hi Guys, Nice to find your blog and see the pictures. Sound like you’ve had a good time with the kids but sorry to hear about the leaks. Hope it’s not too wet. Trish and I have found another boat at last, a 1210 Super van Craft, and will be heading south from Terherne hopefully in a couple of weeks. Weather in the Netherlands also very wet. Will follow your travels as best we can. Good luck.

Hello to all, sunshine last weekend in Prague, lots of culture and nice architecture, good beer and fiar food ( food being a bit basic Germanic, lots of cheap cuts of meat and dumplings!)
Back home in Northern Ireland, good summer so far, good sailing on Glendora we even got a 3rd place last week!
we heard of the earthquake in NZ but figured it was very far south from all of you
