We went out to eat last night to escape the drips. A French family with their little puppy was at the next door table and we were intrigued to watch it being fed frites and mussels, get on the table, pee on the (tiled) floor and lick the waitress’s hand.
We heard the Bastille day fireworks and could see flashes but they were hidden by the bank and tall trees.
We are off to Decize this morning. One of the lock keepers said there have been about 20 boats a day through the locks but I suspect there could be at least 10 champing at the bit to get out of Nevers today.
Hi Sara and Simon
We have just enjoyed a look at your blogg. Eliot is reading Coot Club (one of the Swallows and Amazons series) to Emily – it looks like much of the story will be set on and around a houseboat. We are up to chapter 2 so far. Emily loves this story series and was excited to see your pictures – can you post some photos of the inside? we’d all love to see!
Glad you are having a good time – hope you are all more dry now. It is Cold and grey here.
Lovely to have a sense of the two of you over there. I had been imagining sunny skies! Looking foward to catching up.
