We are in Narbonne eagerly awaiting the arrival of Dave and Siobhan.
There are huge renovations going on on the avenues on both sides of the port, they are being made into pedestrian areas. It does make access to the port challenging as we have to clamber through the rebuilding of the old stone walls and all the workman.
A lovely trip down from Salleles-d’Aude with an elderly Franch boat who were delighted that I walked or biked between locks. We had a nice bike ride out the little village of St. Marcel the day before stopping at fruit and vegetable vendors on the way back and are generally feeling relaxed and soaking up the sun.
I had fun choosing food for a welcome dinner for Siobhan and Dave from the market. Simon and I had, possibly, the best meal yet at an auberge on the banks of the canal on Sunday. A suprise menu and when I asked for suprise wine too the proprietor offered to drink it if we didn’t like it, needless to say it was perfect.
We found an interesting ancient village and biked up and back in between a stunning orage with magnificent lightening and thunder that circled us for a few hours and poured down huge drops of rain.
