It was so windy in Bouziques we decided to come in to Marseillan instead of Meze as it is the most sheltered port on the Etang. One night and invitations later we booked in for a week. We are moored across the port from some spectacular old buildings, there is a new moon and it is incredibly pretty here.
Simon had his hair cut, the shortest ever, we have bought some bargains at the Friday brocante and enjoyed the daily covered market and the market traditionale.
It has been quite a social time, with meals and drinks with other boats and other New Zealanders holidaying here and catching up with good friends Kathy and Davis who we met on their boat two years ago. We are moored beside Maura B. from Ireland and Mary and John have been wonderful dock mates.
Cycling has been a challenge, no maps and big trucks on even little roads however we managed a good ride to little villages Florensac and Pomerols ( from which you can buy wine for 8,000 euros a bottle!).
It has been incredibly windy and stormy so much good reading time however tonight it blissfully still with a beautiful new moon.
The seagulls and ducks are the loudest ever and we have to be careful not to feed them.
I am continuing good research for Fernhill dinners and cooked a lovely meal for our neighbours with help from Carrefour.
Back to the Midi tomorrow.
