We have fallen in love with the Camargue.

From Aigue Morte to Beaucaire we had a fabulous time. Lots of Camargue horses, flamingoes, egrets, herons, wild time. We picked figs (I made a great fig chutney with fresh ginger)  found an amazing Domain where we bought the best wine we have tasted so far this year. We loved the wildness.

Bulls and horses danced down the streets of St. Gilles during the Feria. Beaucaire is the most amazing ancient town, one of the most visited holy sites after Jerusalem and one of the pilgrim routes. The Chateau gardin is stunning with great views over the city and a Rapunzel tower. On the way back to Aigue Morte we were caught in a horrendous thunder and lightening storm which turned to horizontal hail. Over 200 mm of rain in a few hours, everything leaked and we were completely soaked. We managed to tie up to some trees, and in the morning were visited by horses.
